We'll keep things nice and simple this week- and get right on with the clue! Giant Flying Geese: 6 ½” x 12 ½” Make sixteen. General Instructions and Hints: Use a quarter inch seam allowance. Sew your fabrics right sides together. Press towards the darker fabric. Use the images to ensure correct placement and directions. WOF= Width of Fabric. Needed fabrics for this weeks clue: Fabric A: 1 ¼ yards Fabric B: 1 ¼ yards On the wrong side of the 7” squares, draw a line from corner to corner. Place one down on the left side of the rectangles from A, RST. Sew ON the drawn line. Cut ¼” away from the line, and press triangle open. Repeat for the right side. Now that both sides are sewn, pressed, and opened, Square the flying geese units to 6 ½” x 12 ½”. And you’re done! You should have sixteen Flying geese measuring 6 ½” x 12 ½”.
Wasn’t this easier than last week? PS If you don’t like to waste fabric, consider sewing the leftover triangles you trimmed off into HST. Who knows? You might want to work this into the quilt to make it more original to you. Or, for another project. Or you could just stick it in a box in your attic for your great granddaughter to discover eighty years later, and then SHE can do something super cool with it. CC2026 P.I.C.
