Clue Seven: Extended Triangles Make 48. Yardage Needed for this Clue: Fabric A: 1/4 yard Fabric B: 1/4 yard Piecing: Cut the 3” squares from B in half once, diagonally, to create 48 Triangles. RST, sew the strips from A to the left side of the triangle. Yes, it will extend out past the point of the triangle. Press seams. Grab a good ruler, and rotary cutter, and cut off the extended side of the rectangle so it’s 45 degrees and flush with the triangle. And you’re done! You should have 48 of these little triangles!

Clue Six: (make Eight) General instructions: Read all instructions thoroughly before sewing anything. Use a ¼” seam allowance. Sew your fabrics right sides together. WOF= Width of Fabric. HST= Half Square Triangle. Use the images to ensure correct placement, and directions. If you’re spending too much time with “jack the seam ripper” it might be time to take a break! Yardage Needed for this clue: Fabric A: 1/3 yard Fabric B: 1/3 yard In addition: grab the 4 ½” squares from clue 4. Piecing: Row one: ( Make Eight) Square A, HST, Square B. Press seams. Row two: (Make Eight) HST, Square B, HST. Press seams. Row three: (Make Eight) HST, HST Square A. Press Seams. Sew all the rows together. Press seams. Your eight blocks will measure 12 ½” square. Clue Five: Pieced triangle. Make 48. General instructions: Read all instructions thoroughly before sewing anything. Use a ¼” seam allowance. Sew your fabrics right sides together. Important note! Are you making the larger version of this quilt? With the additional fourth color? Well, now you get to use it! Swap out fabric C- for fabric D in this clue! Needed Fabric for this clue Fabric A: 1/8 yard ***Fabric C: 1/8 yard *Unless you’re adding a fourth color- then use fabric D instead of C! Piecing: Step one: Start by cutting all you squares twice diagonally (like an X) for a total of 48 triangles from each fabric. Now take one triangle from each fabric- and sew them together into pairs. They should now be one bigger/pieced triangle and resemble the image. You should have 48 of them. CC2026 P.I.C. Needed Fabric: A: ½ Yard B: ½ Yard Half Square Triangles: On the wrong side of the light 5 ¼” squares, draw a line from corner to corner. Pair up, RST with the dark squares. Sew a quarter inch seam on each side of the line. Cut ON the drawn line. Flip open, and press. Trim/square to 4 ½” squares. You need 40 HST’s. And you’re done!
